This OBD2 diagnostic scanner directly plugs into your vehicle's OBDII port and connects to an OBD II App on your Android device via Bluetooth. Whenever you have a check engine light on or want to see how your vehicle is performing, this little gadget will help you better understand your vehicle.
The adapter uses the fastest and most reliable ARM chip and supports a Universal Vehicle Compatibility, including the United States (all vehicles 1996 & newer), Australia (all vehicles 2006 & newer), Brazil (all vehicles 2008 & newer), Canada (all vehicles 1998 & newer), the European Union (Petrol - all vehicles 2001 & newer, Diesel - all vehicles 2004 & newer), India (all vehicles 2010 & newer), Japan (all vehicles 2010 & newer), and Mexico (all vehicles 2006 & newer). However, it does not support hybrid or electric vehicles.
The device features a small size and compact structure, and it's plug-and-never-unplug, meaning it won't drain your car's battery. It also provides a stable wireless Bluetooth connection with low power consumption. After use, the adapter will automatically enter a sleep mode if communication is stopped for half an hour.
The adapter supports multiple communication protocols, including ISO 9141-2, ISO14230-4 KWP, and ISO15765-4 CAN. It cannot, however, support the J1850 VPW and J1850 PWM communication protocols. Please ensure your car is not using these protocols before purchasing the device.
The recommended apps for this adapter include Torque Lite/Pro, OBD Fusion, DashCommand, Car Scanner ELM OBD2, JScan, inCarDoc, OBD Auto Doctor, Piston, LeafSpy, EOBD Facile, FORScan Lite, Car Gauge Pro, and Dr. Prius for Android, as well as OBD Auto Doctor, EOBD Facile, and Car Scanner for Windows.
Using the adapter, you can perform various diagnostic tasks, such as: 1. Reading diagnostic trouble codes, both generic and manufacturer-specific, and displaying their meanings (over 3000 generic code definitions in the database). 2. Clearing trouble codes and turning off the MIL ("Check Engine" light). 3. Setting the maximum number of responses to obtain. 4. Removing spaces from ECU responses to speed data transmission. 5. Storing a unique identifier in EEPROM. 6. Setting the CAN mask and filter with one command. 7. Easily switching between variable and fixed CAN message lengths. 8. Sending CAN remote frames (RTRs). 9. And many others.
The back of the package has a QR code for downloading the required app. To use the device, simply plug it into your car's OBDII port, start the car, enable Bluetooth on your phone or tablet, search for "OBDII" and pair with it (pin 1234), then run the downloaded app with simple settings and wait until it connects to your car's ECU successfully.
If you use the same OBD2 adapter on two or more cars, you will need to disconnect Bluetooth and close the app when finished testing one car, and then re-pair the Bluetooth when you insert the adapter into another car.
